The province of Reggio Calabria is home to the intriguing abandoned village of Roghudi, which is made up of many houses perched on a cliff.
A very unusual feature of the location large nails fastened to the walls outside the houses to hold ropes fastened to children's ankles so they wouldn't fall into the ravine surrounding the settlement while playing has given rise to numerous legends among the enigmatic abandoned buildings.
Numerous heartbreaking stories of the little people' deaths are still told to this day.
Legend also has it that at night, their wails can still be heard rising from the cliffs toward the settlement.
