Yang Ming says no injuries or pollution from Turkish port crash

According to Yang Ming, the chartered vessel YM Witness made contact with the pier and gantry cranes during berthing operation on 16 March at the port of Evyap, Turkey. Videos show the vessel approaching at too sharp an angle and hit a quay wall toppling and quay crane and sending it crashing into the cranes next to it in a domino effects. Some containers also fell into the sea.

A full investigation into the incident is currently being conducted in conjunction between shipowner and the relevant maritime authorities. While initial reports said a port worker had been seriously injured Yang Ming said there were no casualties following the incident, and no marine pollution has materialized until now. YM Witness is deployed on Far East-Mediterranean service route and currently remains in the Turkish port as investigation are conducted. The vessel operator is making schedule adjustments and arrangements for the transhipment of cargo.

Federal agents on Monday raided properties owned by hip hop music mogul Sean Combs in Los Angeles and Miami, NBC News reported, citing sources.

The Department of Homeland Security agents were authorized to search the properties by warrants issued in Manhattan federal court, law enforcement sources said.

A source familiar with the situation told NBC that three women and one man have been interviewed in New York by federal authorities in connection to a probe involving possible sex trafficking, sexual assault, the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms related to 54-year-old Combs, who is also known as “Diddy,” “Puff Daddy,” and “P. Diddy.”

Interviews with three more women, identified as “Jane Does,” are scheduled.

“Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” Homeland Security said in a statement to NBC 4 Los Angeles.

Combs’ lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNBC.

Douglas Wigdor, a New York lawyer for the singer Cassie Ventura, whose quickly settled a bombshell lawsuit against Comb last fall accusing him of raping and sex trafficking her, said he was also representing a “Jane Doe” in the federal probe of him.

“We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law,” Wigdor said in a statement.

″ Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct,” the lawyer said.

The raids come a month after a music producer named Rodney “Li Rod’ Jones filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court claiming that Combs sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him while he was living and traveling with Combs.

Combs was sued in the same court four months ago by Cassie.

MOSCOW – Camouflage-clad gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons at concertgoers near Moscow on Friday, killing at least 60 people and injuring 145 in an attack claimed by Islamic State militants.
In the deadliest attack in Russia since the 2004 Beslan school siege, gunmen sprayed civilians with bullets just before Soviet-era rock group "Picnic" was to perform to a full house at the 6,200-seat the Crocus City Hall just west of the capital.

Verified video showed people taking their seats in the hall, then rushing for the exits as repeated gunfire echoed above screams. Other video showed men shooting at groups of people. Some victims lay motionless in pools of blood.

"Suddenly there were bangs behind us — shots. A burst of firing — I do not know what," said one witness, who asked not to be identified by name. "A stampede began. Everyone ran to the escalator," the witness said. "Everyone was screaming; everyone was running."

Russian investigators said the death toll was more than 60. Health officials said about 145 people were wounded, of which about 60 were in critical condition.

In the 2004 Beslan school siege, Islamist militants took more than 1,000 people, including hundreds of children, hostage.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was being updated by security chiefs about the situation, including from Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Kremlin said.

Russian investigators published pictures of a Kalashnikov automatic weapon, vests with multiple spare magazines and bags of spent bullet casings. The Islamic State militant group, which once sought control over swaths of Iraq and Syria, claimed responsibility for the attack, the group's Amaq agency said on Telegram.

A grainy picture was published by some Russian media of two of the alleged attackers in a white car.
