Scientists trying to reinfect people with the COVID-19 virus so they could test vaccines and treatments found high levels of immunity made it nearly impossible, according to results from the COVID-19 “Human Challenge” trials in the U.K.

The results, published May 1 in The Lancet Microbe, “raise questions about the usefulness of COVID-19 challenge trials for testing vaccines, drugs and other therapeutics,” Nature reported.

“If you can’t get people infected, then you can’t test those things,” Tom Peacock, Ph.D., a virologist at Imperial College London, told Nature.

Brian Hooker, Ph.D., chief scientific officer for Children’s Health Defense told The Defender, “The results show the power of natural immunity as compared to the many breakthrough infections in ‘naive’ vaccinated individuals.”

“Any assertion that vaccination-based immunity is more powerful than natural immunity is complete lunacy — the acquired immune system is a beautiful thing and vaccination is a cheaper and much less effective substitute,” he said.

Challenge trials require deliberately infecting healthy people with a virus, typically so scientists can understand infections and test the effectiveness of existing vaccines and treatments, and develop new ones.

Michael and I go way back, where some of my best interviews of the past have been with him. In this case, he wanted me on to provide an assessment of where I stand in relation to Donald Trump, where he was taken aback by Trump's call into Hannity, where he assailed pro-Palestine/anti-genocide protesters and endorsed genocide, only complaining that they weren't doing it "fast enough"! What that means is that Trump has made this slaughter of Palestinians "Trump's Genocide" and, by joining with Mike Johnson in moving forward with funding for Israel and Ukraine WITHOUT funding for border security, has has also made the Russia-Ukraine conflict "Trump's war" and the border situation "Trump's fiasco". That single call has shattered my confidence in the man. As Jimmy Dore observes, he's Israel First and only occasionally America First. It has been a bitter pill to swallow, but I no longer regard him as morally fit to be President of the United States. Since the fake "Biden" long since passed that threshold, I am now going to review RFK Jr. on similar criteria. I continue to believe, however, that Trump will be our next President (as long as elections are allowed to transpire, which remains in doubt).

Began late (alas) with Col. MacGregor updating on the Russia-Ukraine war, which Ukraine has lost. The Russians are pissed that NATO is conducting exercises on its border and warning that they might start with NATO military based but would not be confined thereto, where London and Paris might be on their target list. He worries that Russia is serious but the West--especially the UK and the US--are not listening. Explained how easy it would be for an EMP to return America to the stone age, a prospect of which we all must be aware. Returned to Trump's call into Hannity and Jimmy Dore's observations (that the man is Israel First, only America First occasionally). This has been a bitter pill to swallow. Then Michael Ivey joined for a discussion about belief in God, alternative conceptions thereof, and how we can or cannot know of God's existence. It was a delightful excursion into the domain of philosophy & theology not frequently addressed on this show, but very worthy of discussion. Calls from Brian and Frank rounded out an unusual exchange, which many may find of unusual interest.

Israel wants the US National Guard deployed against students who are protesting the genocide in Gaza! That's chutzpah for you. UNREAL! Trump calls into Hannity and complains about protesters, while encouraging Israel to "finish the job" (of slaughtering Palestinians). His only complaint was they aren't doing it fast enough! Made me puke! The new Antisemitism Bill passed by the House grossly violates freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion (in the name of Israel). It got 320 votes! Egad! Every one of those who voted in favor should be booted from Congress. Paul Craig Roberts admits that Israel has relocated to Washington, D.C. Congress is Israel Occupied Territory. AWFUL! And during a campaign rally, Trump goes further and suggests bringing back the death penalty for those who protest against Israel. (And to think I was one of his strongest supporters!) He has also talked down the idea of a Palestinian state as no longer viable. Hamas will remain in power in a weakened condition as the preference of Netanyahu, who has a vision of a modern Gaza that looks like Abu Dhabi. It's just a bit unreal.

Not merely as an ‘escape’, but as a means to help create and cultivate healthier people, to better fight (and more clearly understand) the inevitable battles ahead. I’d suggest we’re being subtly poisoned in a multitude of ways we don’t yet fully recognize... and that this poison is causing us to increasingly lead desperate and broken half-lives. We’ve allowed sick men to become our storytellers and narrative creators and authors of prevailing culture... and as inevitable result, we’ve grown sick. Yet, none of this is irreversible.

Find those you most resonate with, form genuine bonds, and work together to create the new... create pockets of health that might be networked and allied to create something significant.

None of this is impossible... and the process has now already begun, in earnest — seek to play a part.
