She also discusses the issue of the discontinuation of one of the insulins and how it will affect patients and their treatments. Allison shares about how she manages her daughter's type 1 diabetes by following a low-carb, high-protein diet. This has helped her daughter maintain stable blood sugar levels and overall better health. Allison's family also follows this diet and they have become healthier as a result. They eat similar types of food to everyone else but make small changes to make them more diabetes-friendly. Allison's daughter has adjusted well to this lifestyle, and they still enjoy treats like root beer floats using sugar-free subs
