After Sadiq Khan secured an historic third-term as London Mayor, Matthew Wright considers whether his victory will finally silence his critics.

Many people have staunchly opposed Khan's ULEZ policy, including Kingsley Hamilton, Organiser of Action Against Unfair ULEZ campaign.

Hamilton explains to Matthew his reasoning for wanting to get rid of ULEZ, but accepts that Khan won the mayoral election fairly.

He does, however, stress that he will not stop campaigning and wants to continue debating the London Mayor on the subject.

Despite a strong set of local election results for Labour, Keir Starmer's position on the war in Gaza has led to some council losses which have somewhat clouded their overall performance.

Speaking to BBC, Pat McFadden, the party’s national election co-ordinator, admitted that Labour’s position on the war in Gaza had “been a factor in some places."

"I don’t think there’s any point in denying it," he said.

Matt Frei speaks to political strategist, John McTernan, and Jeremy Corbyn's former senior policy advisor, Andrew Fisher, to discuss this and more.

Greggs has been forced to deploy a former serviceman at its flagship central London branch as shoplifters target the chain in a spate of thefts.

Ben Kentish questions whether a recent surge in shoplifting is really the result of 'desperation' or signals a new sense of 'entitlement', joining him to discuss is shop theft specialist Maxine Fraser.

The security guard on duty at the Leicester Square Greggs this morning is an ex-serviceman believed to have served in the fearsome Gurkha regiment.

Greggs, which last year overtook Subway to become the UK’s biggest fast food chain, has been forced to take tough measures as part of efforts to thwart brazen shoplifters trying to get their hands on the popular baked goods.

LBC understands the former soldier on duty today served in the Gurkha regiment, which is world-renowned for the bravery of its soldiers and has the motto "It is better to die than to live like a coward."

The Labour Party has claimed victory for Sadiq Khan, who is set to win a historic third term as Mayor of London.

Labour has won the mayoralties in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

Meanwhile, the race to become the Mayor of the West Midlands is reportedly 'too close to call'.

The West Midlands result is expected imminently, with Andy Street hoping to secure re-election.

It comes after the Conservatives suffered their worst electoral losses in '40 years', with four more councils still to declare and key mayoral results to come.

Ballots are being counted after a swathe of local and mayoral elections across England and Wales.

Over 2,600 council seats across 107 local authorities in England are up for grabs, along with ten high-profile mayoral races in major cities and regional authorities. Londoners will also elect 25 Assembly members.

Separately, 37 police and crime commissioner roles will be decided upon across England and Wales through today's balloting.

But the Blackpool South constituency has garnered particular attention, as a new MP will be chosen, following the resignation of former Conservative Scott Benton, in a by-election.

The Conservative party are facing troubling results from the local elections, after Labour won a by-election in Blackpool and gained the 'home of the British Army' while Reform saw a surge in votes across the UK.

Labour swept to victory in the Blackpool South by-election, securing a majority of 7,607.

It was the third biggest swing from the Conservatives to Labour at a by-election since the Second World War.

The party also took Rushmoor - known as "the home of the British Army" - despite it being run by the Tories for the past 24 years.

Nick Ferrari is joined by Tory Party Chairman Richard Holden to discuss.
