Just because Hitler and the Nazis were at the helm in Germany does not mean that you cannot point out atrocities visited upon the general German populace at that time. There were no heroes during the Second World War. Churchill, Roosevelt and later Eisenhower are all culpable for the deaths of civilians in Axis countries.
Hellstorm does an excellent job of pointing out these atrocities. Sinead McCarthy's poignant narration, combined with brilliant production on a shoestring budget, touches this sensitive and politically incorrect topic in a way that will leave you tearful and thoughtful after you watch the documentary.

Such a welcome breath of fresh air to watch a different point of view on the war other than the filtered propaganda of the West and filmmakers of the USA. I found it to be fair and non-biased, just from a different perspective, the film does not allocate blame, just some food for thought and the truth from the other side. I think that people are far to quick to brush aside, any thought process and simply accept things the way that they have been presented over time. I too thought that movies like "Schindler's List" were based on the truth before doing a bit of research.
I found difficulty sourcing it on YouTube but finally was able to stream it off Ancreport, another good documentary in the same line is "The Greatest Story Never Told" and David Cole on Auschwitz both are done very well for the obvious limit in budget.

The traffickers find out about her smuggling and kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. The gang promises to release them if Tae-shik makes a delivery for them, however, it is a larger plot to eliminate a rival drug ring leader. When Hyo-jeon's disemboweled body is discovered, Tae-shik realizes that So-mi's life may also be in danger. Tae-Shik becomes enraged at the prospect that So-mi may already be dead and prepares for a battle, putting his own life at risk.

A lot of people are put off by foreign language films and I hope those people don't let that stop them from watching this.
It has all the panache of a typical Hollywood film and I have to disagree with some comments that the back-story aspect is lacking compared with the action; my exact thoughts when watching this film were along the lines of "I cannot believe how genuine the character development is". The bond between the two main characters is extremely believable (huge props to the actress who played the young kid). I thought the fact that the film wasn't edited down to the hour-and-half standard probably gave them more room to develop and for an action film, there was much more intelligence than I was expecting in the story.
One of the best films I have seen in a long time.

I haven't watched an Asian film for a while if not of my friend who talked a lot of good things about this film. I would like to acknowledge the director for directing incredible Artists who portrayed tremendous performances and touched my feelings and emotions in many different ways. The main character embellished as a young hero who can save by the speed of his fists, his skills in weapons to defend himself and remorseful countenance in his face to portray his agony, compassion to save his only beloved object- The little Girl and the children. Yet you can see this man in contrasting character, the softness side of him when he really cried and could see the real tears coming down from his eyes. The voice clarity of the movie is another standout. Unlike certain movies, I had to stop and replay the parts I did not understand. I enjoyed so much listening to how they pronounced and emphasized words according to the character portrayed. I have seen Asian movies in the past and the dubbing were the worst part. Entertainingly, the movie was beautifully crafted. I was at my seat throughout enjoying every moment. Since there were some scenes of brutal killings, I am though suggesting for adult viewers only. Enjoy the movie.

There's no law against it so why do it only once? It is cruel and deadly, the war is over, and totally disrespectful of architectural masterpieces and the irreplaceable works of art they contain and of human life itself so let's have fun while we still can, I'm sure that no later than 1948 they will regulate that too, they have to, it's so cruel... and THAT is unforgivable the lie.
And as Mr. Zundel said, I hope you confess and make amends before too long, but not for me, for you, such a heavy load must be difficult to carry around. Respect your family, stop the lies, and free yourself, time for the truth now. Good luck.

A soldier trained from birth is considered obsolete and dumped on a lonely waste planet. A community of defenseless, stranded wanderers reluctantly takes him in.
In a futuristic society, some people are selected at birth to become soldiers, and trained in such a manner that they become inhuman killing machines. One of the most successful and older of these soldiers (Russell) is pitted against a new breed of soldiers, and after the confrontation is believed to be dead. His body is left behind on a semi-abandoned colonial planet, where everything is peaceful, and he is taught about the other aspects of life. Eventually, he has to fight the new breed of soldiers again, this time to defend his new home.
Sergeant Todd (Russell) is a veteran soldier for an elite group of the armed forces of Earth. After being defeated by a new breed of genetically engineered soldiers, he is dumped on a waste planet and left for dead. He soon interacts with a group of crash survivors who lead out a peaceful existence on the planet. The peace is soon broken as the new breed of soldiers lands to eliminate the colony, which Sergeant Todd must defend.

➤ "A good movie in two parts" by chl-68 February 2000
The first two sequences of this movie set up two conflicts: the -thematic- conflict between the soldier Todd and his suppressed humanity, and the -physical- conflict between Todd and his bio-engineered replacement. Both sequences are quite gripping in different ways.
Peoples' screenplay falters somewhat by resolving the first of these arcs halfway through the movie, which means the second half is little more than a straightforward action romp.
Nonetheless, kudos to the makers for creating a genre action piece with heart and even a bit of soul, and especially to Kurt Russell who conveys much with very little.
Not a great film, but one worth seeing.

I'm not going to try to make this out to be something it isn't. This is not a great movie. The special effects are mostly crap, and some are hilariously bad. Kurt Russell says 104 words in the whole movie, or almost $200,000 per word for his 20 million dollar payday for this train wreck. And it doesn't matter. I've probably seen it over a dozen times, and I love it. It's entertaining and has enough action and violence to make it worth your time. Shut your brain off and ignore the naysayers, this is worthy. Kurt is completely jacked and looks the part. And even though he says next to nothing during the whole thing, his brief halftime speech before he goes and kills everyone gives me a chill, every time. As I said, it's not a great movie though. It is, however, a really good time.
