Alice Stewart, a veteran political adviser and CNN political commentator who worked on several GOP presidential campaigns, has died. She was 58.
Law enforcement officials told CNN that Stewart’s body was found outdoors in the Belle View neighborhood in northern Virginia early Saturday morning. No foul play is suspected, and officers believe a medical emergency occurred.
“Alice was a very dear friend and colleague to all of us at CNN,” Mark Thompson, the network’s CEO, said in an email to staff Saturday. “A political veteran and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brought an incomparable spark to CNN’s coverage, known across our bureaus not only for her political savvy, but for her unwavering kindness. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn such an extraordinary loss.”
Stewart was born on March 11, 1966, in Atlanta.
Stewart started her career as a local reporter and producer in Georgia before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, to be a news anchor, she told Harvard International Review. She went on to serve as the communications director in then-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s office before assuming a similar role for his presidential run in 2008.

"If you are staying in town for the Holidays, this might be something fun for the family, or on a date. The very top floor of the Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Los Angeles features a popular bar, as well as a restaurant space that used to be occupied by Wolfgang Puck. The Puck space is now home to Le Petit Chef, a new concept in what I will describe as a kind of high-tech Dinner Theater. The basic idea, your physical table is "alive," and an entire show plays out on your table and on your dinner plate. The show is animated, and the food; an abundant and really good five course meal; actually appears in real life, on your plate. My younger kids, 14 and 15, were really engaged by the whole thing. Almost all the customers there on the weekend, were on dates; and I think if you are looking for something completely "new" to share on a date - this is something you likely have never experienced before. The entire menu is prix fixe, and the Mrs liked the idea that there were no decisions to be made. My favorite part, exactly what you would expect - a do-it-yourself dessert, that was particulary tasty. The whole place was very strict in checking our vaccine cards, and there was generous space between tables - two things I regard as big pluses. A very enjoyable and completely unexpected evening. If you are looking for something new-next-now this may well be it."

Mindy here. My dear friend, Nicole Eggert, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and needs our help.

It's been a long time since Charles in Charge and Baywatch. As a single mom, she's had to struggle financially to raise her two daughters. She still has a little one at home and she is terrified of not being able to afford the treatments and surgery necessary while also keeping a roof over their heads. She’s lost both her parents and doesn’t have any family to lean on or help her with this situation.

She has a long road ahead. Multiple expensive imaging - CTs, MRIs, Ultrasounds, etc. Multiple doctors to see - oncologists, surgeons, etc. Cancer treatments and medications. Her current insurance won't even scratch the surface of what she needs.

She is tenacious and has always found a way to get by, but this is different. She will be unable to work while undergoing surgery and treatments. She has a long, scary road ahead and has a terrible time asking for help.

I implore you to help my friend afford her medical bills as well as feel secure that she won't be left without a home for her family during this extremely trying time.

Once she is on the road to recovery, she intends to start a non-profit for single parents like herself, without families, who are going through this ordeal.

She will be grateful for any contribution. Everything helps.

Hi, friends. Some of you have noticed I’ve been off air the last couple weeks. I’m okay - but had a bit of a scare and some unexpected surgery I’m now recovering from. A normal Saturday morning at home with my girls changed very quickly. I’m glad I listened to my body, told my husband, “something’s not right,” and let him take me to the ER. After four days in critical care and a trip to the OR, I finally started feeling better, and I am so grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff for their compassionate care and determination in figuring out what was causing my symptoms.

The last time we were all in this hospital, I was holding my babies through a 45 day NICU stay. At that time, it was the hardest and scariest thing I’d ever experienced in my life… until this past year. Since losing my mother, I’ve learned so much about grief, trauma and mental health. But this latest bump in the road has also taught me that “the body keeps score.”

It’s a humbling and eye-opening reminder that the older we get, and the bigger life’s challenges get, we have to be increasingly intentional when it comes to wellness, inside and out - mentally, physically, spiritually - not just for our selves but for our loved ones who depend on us.

I’m so thankful to be home and on the upswing, and I’ll see you all again soon."
