With another break in timed events this weekend following last weekend's Splatfest, I thought I'd continue publishing my backlog of Splatoon 3 Challenges. The next challenge was from Chill Season 2023, the Modded Rainmaker Test-Fire Challenge, with Rainmaker on Inkblot Art Academy and Humpback Pump Track! How has the Rainmaker been modded? It now shoots three spreading explosive blasts instead of just one,, and it boosts the carrier's abilities as well. However, to compensate for these buffs, it explodes in the carrier's hands after only 30 seconds instead of 60.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the newest member of my randomizer rotation: the Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest Randomizer! This randomizer shuffles all items in the game around (including Oak Stakes) by default, but also has other options like an enemy randomizer, a town/mansion randomizer, a door randomizer, custom character sprites, and also some difficulty modifiers. Instead of using alphanumeric sequences of characters to label different seeds, this one mashes four words together to create sometimes humorous phrases. If you want to play a specific seed that I'm playing in these videos, copy the video title into the "Randomizer Seed" section on the website and remove the spaces.

It's Friday, which means it's time to go oldschool with some Classic SNES F-Zero-style races! Here, a player named Taco showed that the Blue Falcon can be viable in Classic Mode, and I got a new best lap time on Classic Mute City 2!
Classic Mode is a mode for only 20 players that replicates the rules and style of the OG F-Zero on SNES. This means no Spin Attack, no Skyway, only one boost per lap after the first, no energy expansions from KOs, and narrower tracks in a 4:3 aspect ratio. 12 tracks are available for this mode, including all 8 tracks from the normal race pool and all 4 tracks from the Pro Tracks pool. The only tracks you can't play in this mode are the Grand Prix Finales (Silence, White Land 2, Fire Field), though they are now available randomly in Classic Mini Prix events. With this mode comes unlockable customizations for your pilot card, including badges for winning 1st place in a Classic race and for finishing a Classic race on all 12 tracks, and a border modeled after an SNES cartridge for playing Classic mode 25 times.

After killing the Fiend of Fire and making the Fire Orb shine once again, it's now time to enter the dreaded Ice Cave, home of plenty of enemies that can either petrify or instantly kill you, as well as probably the most heavily guarded treasure in the entire game! Seriously, when each of 7 steps to the treasure triggers a Frost Dragon fight, it's got to be good, right?
This hack essentially does to FF1 on the NES that Final Fantasy 4 Ultima did to FF4, bringing you a fresh, tougher Final Fantasy with greater depth and tactics. There are numerous creative deviations and system overhauls, though care has been taken to ensure the game still “feels like FF”.
Along with the game you will find a comprehensive guide and maps valuable to any new adventurer. Think of them as your replacement for the original paper charts which came with the NES cartridge back in the day.

It's Thursday, which means time for more Team Battles in F-Zero 99. Here, last week's Mirror King League update added one more track to the selection pool for Team Battle mode: Mirror Mute City 3, a.k.a. Best Mute City!
In Team Battle, the 99 racers are divided into two teams: the Green Team and the Pink Team. Here, finishing in 1st place is only part of the battle. There are four different ways to score for your team in this mode. You score Spin Points by simply hitting players on the enemy team with your Spin Attack. You score KO Points by delivering the killing blow on an enemy player (the max energy bonus from KOs applies to all members of your team in this mode). You score Bumper Points by getting a Lucky Bumper after getting KO'd and bumping into enemy racers (so you can still help your team from the grave). You score Lap Points depending on your current position at the end of each lap (obviously the higher your position the more points you score). After the race, the total scores in all four categories for each team are added together, and the team with the highest combined score is the winner.

After proving our courage to dragon king Bahamut and upgrading our hero classes, the time has now come to shine the light on the next orb! So off we go to the volcanic Mount Gulg to fight the Fire Fiend Marilith (or Kary depending on which version you're playing)!
This hack essentially does to FF1 on the NES that Final Fantasy 4 Ultima did to FF4, bringing you a fresh, tougher Final Fantasy with greater depth and tactics. There are numerous creative deviations and system overhauls, though care has been taken to ensure the game still “feels like FF”.
Along with the game you will find a comprehensive guide and maps valuable to any new adventurer. Think of them as your replacement for the original paper charts which came with the NES cartridge back in the day.

It's Wednesday, so today we're tackling some more Mini Prix tournaments. This time the Mirror King League just dropped which means one more possibility for the first race (Mirror Mute City 3) and three more possibilities for the third race (Mirror Death Wind 2, Mirror Port Town 2, Mirror Red Canyon 2) in a regular Mini Prix! I also got my first win on Classic Silence in a Classic Mini Prix!

In the next ALTTP Randomizer seed, Primm comes to Hyrule from the World of Mana for what might be the most complex randomizer seed I've played so far! This is a Completionist seed, which means every single item must be collected to fight Ganon. But said items are very well guarded, by randomly shuffled enemies and bosses all dealing random amounts of damage and with severely boosted health, severely limited power-ups to work with, inverted worlds, and dungeon keys scattered throughout the world! Grab some popcorn for this one!

First, we get access to a new website called Arcade Imports where we can buy the DLC games for dirt cheap (even though they don't progress the story). Second, Daddy Dearest gives us a to-do list for each day and wires us some pounds sterling to unlock upgrades!

This week on Sunday Longplay, I'm continuing another multipart longplay of a compilation game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Welcome back to Tetris & Dr. Mario on SNES!
Like the title says, this is a compilation of two classic puzzle games from the NES on one SNES cartridge with updated graphics and new features. There is also a third game in this collection called Mixed Match which is a high score competition for 2 players involving a combination of Dr. Mario and both modes of Tetris (sort of like Nintendo World Championships in a way). This is the only game in this collection that doesn't have the option of single-player or a CPU opponent.
There are many different difficulty customization options for the different games in the options menu, so I thought I'd see how high I can go with the maximum difficulty settings!

Hi, I'm MetalSmasher, and gaming has been a lifelong passion of mine, ever since the NES came out around the time I was born. And with the passion of video games comes the passion of recording video game walkthroughs and helping others through trouble spots. My parents bought our first NES for themselves around the time my brother was in kindergarten and I was just born, but as we grew up, we got sucked into it as well, and the rest is history.
This channel will mainly focus on the nostalgia of the golden age of gaming, but I will go into the modern era as well to show off all eras of gaming as much as possible. I will also spice things up by doing self-imposed challenges, and playing random online matches with viewers, friends, and just randoms.
Videos will be uploaded every day. One main series on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, another main series on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a one-off on Sundays, and random videos of whatever I feel like on Saturdays!
