The US ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has made a bizarre statement that New Delhi has been buying so much Russian oil because that's exactly what Washington wanted. The gaffe also flies in the face of the West's own sanctions against Moscow, that actually aimed to strangle Russia's exports. This comes as India's imports of Russian oil have hit a nine-month high.

Dozens of Catalan prison workers took to the streets of Barcelona on Friday, calling for enhanced security measures in penitentiary centers. The demonstrators marched with banners reading 'Dignity of the staff is not for sale' and chanting 'We are all Núria' and 'We will not stop!’

The protest follows the murder of Mas d'Enric prison chef Núria. She was stabbed to death by an inmate who later took her own life at the prison. The incident, which occurred in March, prompted mass protests demanding that the government implement enhanced security measures to protect prison workers.

On this episode of Direct Impact, Rick Sanchez looks at the state of crime and filth in the American city, particularly the once-grand San Francisco. Correspondent Manila Chan joins Rick to discuss how the home of the Golden Gate Bridge has devolved into a cesspit of disease, homeless people, and crime to the point where stores are closing down and people are fleeing; a Congressman was even robbed. Then Rick and Manila discuss how US Christian fundamentalists are working to the detriment of some of the oldest Christian communities in the world, in Palestine, and throughout the rest of the Middle East through their support for Israel. Then Craig Jardula joins Rick to talk about all of this and more. Don’t miss it.
