I recently purchased a new to me 2018 F-150 Lariat with just over 33,000 miles. This is an intro to my new truck.

No, it isn't normal for your reverse to "creep". After about 300 hours of use, I noticed my reverse was getting slower and it wasn't long after that before I had to slip my toe under the forward pedal and lift up to reverse the tractor. This is a video I have been meaning to do for a while. I have seen the other 3 part video but always thought it could be done in one part. I have it down to a 5 minute install. This video is a little over 13 minutes but that is because I am a one man operation - mechanic, videographer, and narrator. Just completed a 100hr service on the tractor, After I watched this, I realized that I had picked up two 40 pound weights with one hand. The weather was hot and humid at 85 degrees and I thought I would see what I could do with the 1951 Wagner Loader Farmall Cub. We are waiting to get the driveway redone and I decided to see if I could get things started by tearing into the more crumbly section of the driveway. There are two layers of asphalt, the top layer is about an inch thick and the bottom layer is about 3 inches thick. Our 1953 Farmall Cub and the 174 planter/runner made short work of getting in this last planting of corn for the year. The sun was dropping fast but as I hurried to remove the 144 Cultivators, I figured I would take even more time and film the process. The light ever decreasing, and the picture quality ever degrading, I managed to meet my goal to get the last corn of the season planted with a little help from my son.

Our 1953 Cub with the 22 mower. The day started out chilly but Ruth, the 1953 Farmall Cub, was willing and stayed strong as always. The cutter bar that I refurbished last year, worked perfectly and I had very few clogs. You may notice that the wheels are spaced to match the bar's length so I didn't run over the hay any more than necessary. Our 1953 Farmall Cub shakes loose some cobwebs and dirt with the 23-A harrow! Got the Ruth the Cub out for the first time this year after an oil and filter change. We harrowed the back garden which had been snow covered just 2 weeks ago. All the interesting stuff happened when the batteries ran out on the cameras but I did manage to get the end result I was aiming for. Our 1953 Cub gets a workout with the 23-A Harrow! I bought 4 new tires for my cub from TM Tractors and while I was there, Ron had a 23-A Double Gang Disk Harrow to sell me. It was in good shape and rolled freely so we loaded it up into the back of my truck, put the new tires on top, closed the cap, and headed home. I wanted to get the new tires on Ruth the Cub before trying to pull the harrow, but time got in the way and only allowed for three, both front and one rear to be installed. Running the harrow was a sharp learning curve, but the harrow really is an easy tool to use and the adjustments are simple, with obvious results. I dragged the harrow through a garden I had previously tilled to get a feel for it. Then we headed to the back garden that had not been touched this year and worked in the winter rye to ready for planting corn.

Here is a look at the first annual Mid Maine CubFest in Exeter, ME. We had a good bunch of cubbers for a great first fest. For three of us it was our first ever cubfest. I had never been to one, so I figured the best to go to one was to host a fest. A ton of work and organizing went in it for me and my family, but it really was worth it. Two tractors were brought back from the dead, lots of stories, conversations, and friendships formed. We had food for about 3 times as many that showed up, and my daughter's chili received rave reviews. The weather was overcast but the rain stayed away, for the most part. Maybe we will have more members who will show up next year, especially with a two day event.

This year we tried using the cub to help uncover our 27 75 foot rows of potatoes. After disturbing the row with Ruth the Cub, about half of the potatoes remained uncovered. While I still needed to use the hoe to uncover the other half of them, the great thing was that the soil went from being compacted during the growing season, to very loose. Crows have been tormenting me for years, so this year I am trying something new. I purchased 500 feet of Agribon-15 from Johnny's Selected Seeds and the kids, Ruth the Cub, and I put down row cover over the corn. I will leave the corn covered until the corn is as tall as a crow. Back in the middle of October, I came up with another 'excuse' to work my cub. Using the cultivators, I have found an easy way to level out the mounds created by hand hoeing/digging potatoes. After over 1500 feet of digging potatoes by hand, I enjoyed some seat time on the old cub. See if you notice a little difference I inserted, if you know cubs, it will slap your senses!
