The ugly duckling, usually mean people wont accept you, or you just have a poor self image of yourself.

Now

The ugly bob syndrome is something i made up. But what it means, while someone is legit attractive looking, and have all things that should be appealing... is somehow mocked or not recognized. An example i can think of is interms of attractiveness is. People like Richard Dean Anderson from MacGyver or Harrison Ford from Indiana Jones because they have something to offer interms of personality.
But compare it to Keanu Reeves in Matrix Trilogy or Nathan Drake from Uncharted. Either they get called, boring or generic.

So this is what i call the Ugly Bob syndrome. Whether this can be seen as satire on people or a reflection on peoples view on figures is up to debate.
