FANTASTIC 4

On March 27, 2024, Eatontown Police Department officers were dispatched to Nordstrom where loss prevention agents were holding a 44-year-old woman who had allegedly stolen $407.52 worth of merchandise. Officers arrived and reviewed surveillance footage and then placed the woman under arrest. However, she provided the officers with her sister's name and date of birth. At the police station, the woman went on a profanity filled episode, including kicking items, dancing, and berating a female officer. Eventually, through the fingerprinting process, the true identity of the woman was discovered. That is also when it was discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest. She was then transported to the county jail, where she was charged with shoplifting, hindering apprehension, and contempt of court. Her case remains open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 09/25/2022 at 0052 hours, I was parked facing south on Pennsylvania Avenue at Alaska Street running stationary radar. I observed a gold Chevrolet Malibu traveling north on Pennsylvania Avenue at Alaska Street traveling at a higher rate of speed. I checked a vehicle at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone and then again at 62 mph in a 35 mph zone. I pulled out and activated my blue lights, but the driver continue north on Pennsylvania Avenue. I activated my siren and the driver turned right into an apartment complex and braked. The driver then made an abrupt left turn through the parking lot and accelerated. I could see the driver not wearing a seatbelt as he made the left turn. Sergeant Riddle was behind me during this period and I notified troop I communications that we were in a vehicle pursuit and let Sergeant riddle called the chase. The driver turned right through the parking lot, then left and exited on the Elgin Street. The driver than ran the stop sign turn right back on the Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver then turned left onto DeVol Street and continued fleeing. The driver ran the stop sign at Forest Avenue and went airborne. The driver then turned right on the Lawton Avenue, running a stop sign. The driver then turned left onto Capitol Street, running a stop sign again. The driver, then turned right onto Goebel Avenue, running a stop sign, while another vehicle was sitting at the intersection with the right of way. The driver then accelerated to over 90 mph in the 35 mph zone on Goebel Avenue towards President Street. As the driver approached President Street, he made a left turn through the gore and onto President Street, the wrong Direction. The driver was traveling westbound in eastbound lanes. The driver braked briefly as another car approached the violator vehicle head on. The driver then began to accelerate the wrong way on President Street. I made the decision to try and hit the vehicle quickly before crash occurred. As I sped up to PIT the vehicle, the driver utilized the first cut he came and got back onto the right side of the roadway. The driver then began driving westbound on the
right side of the roadway. The driver began failing to maintain lane and he began swerving left and
right in an attempt to keep me away from him. The driver entered into a left turn lane as if he was
going to get back on the wrong side of the road but darted over at the last second into the left lane and
began swerving back and forth again. I then set up and executed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle. The
vehicle rotated clockwise and broke traction. The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway
on the north shoulder. The driver then struck the guard rail and the vehicle overturned several times
before coming down and facing south.
