Foggy Mountain Breakdown (1972)

Pushing my luck without chains up the east side of Breckenridge Mountain. Because why not.

Missed approach to minimums at KVIS, strong crosswind from the left, then IFR through the clouds at 4,000 through the Fresno class C airspace, then down into Madera.

Good learning experience at the start. I was tracking the localizer with the hood blocking my view until the 1:44 mark. Had no idea just how much crosswind correction I was putting in to stay on the localizer. When I removed the hood and transitioned to visual, I instinctively lined myself up straight with the runway and started drifting quickly to the right. Lesson learned!

Castaic to LAX. Date/timestamp is incorrect. This video was captured between 5pm - 6pm on a Friday evening in April 2020. Pretty amazing how vacant the LA freeways were.
