A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I tried playing the Rifts TTRPG by Palladium. I had a horrible time with it. My experience with Rifts was so bad that my entire gaming group swore off any Palladium RPGs ever since.

Times change, though, and Rifts has been put back on my radar once again. Should I give this classic TTRPG another chance?

Flashback to that time at PAX Unplugged where Catalyst's Community Manager-and the new face of Catalyst-Rem Alternis had to get clarification on the faction that has been one of Battletech's main antagonists for the better part of it's 40 year history.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked our group if they'd be interested in trying a cinematic session of the Alien RPG from Free League Publishing. Naturally, I jumped at the chance for two reasons. One, I love Free League's stuff. Two, the Alien franchise is probably my favorite movie franchise of all time. We just wrapped up our cinematic adventure last week, and I've got some thoughts on this unique TTRPG.

Okay, fair warning, today's video is EXTRA spicy; and by that I mean you won't want your youngins listening in. I get VERY heated here but only because it's dealing with one of my biggest hobby hates ever: paint shaming. There's no cause for paint shaming. It's petty and childish. Paint shaming drives away people who might otherwise have been all in on mini painting. Most of all, paint shaming makes you look like a giant, colossal d-bag.

Today's example of paint shaming comes from none other than one of Catalyst Game Labs' own Demo Team Agents. Someone who should be an ambassador for the hobby.
