In this video, I show how effective Spoonplugging can be on a Flat land Reservoir, when you follow procedures and principles.
Here is a quick video of my 5lb 14oz Large Mouth Bass, my PB at the time.
Gabriel and I were trolling for Large Mouth Bass at Ascarate Lake. This lake does not allow gas outboards so we are limited in speed by the 24v electric motor. We are following spoonplugging principles outline in Buck Perry's Green Book and trolling contours of the lake. This lake only has a maximum depth of 6ft but is loaded with small bass. Most fisherman are not aware that the home of the fish is deep water and trolling can catch more fish in certain situations.
Spent a day fishing at Caballo lake for White Bass. This is the first time that Jaime spent a day learning Spoonplugging techniques. All of the fishing knowledge used to locate and catch fish is found in Buck Perry's Green Book.
Fishing for walleye at Caballo Lake Nm. This lake has a large population of stocked walleye and white bass. The water level varies through out the year as this reservoir is used for irrigation. When water levels drop, the fish are forced to use different structure in the lake. The structure they use is also dependent on the time of the year you fish this lake.
I invited Daniel on a Spoonplugging fishing trip on Caballo Lake,NM. He is new to fishing and I wanted to show him some of the basics of trolling and casting following Spoonplugging guidelines in Buck Perry's Green Book. We had a great day on that water and he had a blast!
I am new to Spoonplugging aka " Structure Fishing" and have been reading and studying Buck Perry's "Guide to Structure Fishing and Lunker Catches". Before learning about the True facts of fishing, which have been validated since the mid 40's, I wandered about the lake hoping to catch a fish. Join me on my journey to learn how to consistently catch fish in lakes and reservoirs using knowledge learned from Bucks :Green" Book. Remember: Fish are predicable and have a pea sized brain. They live in Deep Water and may move shallow based on weather and water conditions. Fish use routes on structures that lead them shallow. Knowledge is the Key to Fishing Success!
