Star-crossed
*This song is inspired by the many beloved European stories of the star-crossed lovers. Two of my favorites are Romeo & Juliet, and Tristan & Isolde. I’d even argue that Brunhild and Sigurd (or Siegfried) were another star-crossed pair.
*I wrote this because these stories represent several vitally important things to me:
1) They represent unconditional love and the sacrifice and devotion that comes with that, which is something that is becoming so rare in today’s world.
2) They also represent the unification of two halves to a whole...Completion.
*Without both our men and our women, we cannot continue our existence. We not only complement one another, but we also complete each other. That is exactly how nature intended it to be.*
Lyrics:
Star-crossed
Cloud covered names
Hear me sing
As the tears fall like rain
Against the rocks
A beating heart in pain
It knows not
How to be free again
Sweet lonesome
Eyes full of fear
Hear my voice
As the ending draws near
A wave of calm
Drifting slowly away from here
Following
The one you held most dear
Souls bound
Like a gemel tree
Hear this song
As the wind blows the leaves
Into a space
Where the lovers rest in peace
Who risked it all
Loving unconditionally
