Infinia's PowerDish Brochure

Not so long ago (in 2013) a company called Infinia was all set to mass produce its PowerDish (tm), a solar thermal dish rated to deliver 3 kW of power. The company initially predicted that their product would cost 12 to 15 thousand USD each. Pretty amazing considering that these dishes converted solar energy to electricity with a 24% efficiency (which I believe was higher than that of competing PV technology). Unfortunately, despite that Infinia had already proven the technology and despite that there was a virtually-guaranteed commercial (not to mention residential) market for this and similar products, Infinia was unable to obtain additional financing and had no choice but to file for chapter 11!
