Yuri Bezmenov - All interviews and lectures
Given that the latest iteration of the popular video game, Call of Duty, features in its trailer the Soviet Union KGB-defector, Yuri Bezmenov, I thought now would be a good time to upload the complete interviews and talks of this man. Of course, the far left are going out of their minds over CofD's choice of pedagogue and are kvetching hysterically about it as is their wont. They clearly see Bezmenov as some kind of threat to their neo-communist agenda. Quite predictably, they're claiming Bezmenov was some kind of fascist, a word becoming increasingly meaningless since they seem to label anyone even slightly to the right of Karl Marx a fascist (ironically, Marx himself would probably be considered a fascist by today's standards given his "problematic" views on race).
In reality, Bezmenov was a staunch anti-communist, having had up-close, first-hand experience of the horrors that this ideology unleashed upon the world in the 20th century.
I have transcribed some of Bezmenov's central teachings below:
America's greatest strengths are the basic principles of democracy, common sense, the respect of private property and human dignity and individual rights. The weaknesses are the permissiveness and lack of moral stamina, which if you are a religious person could be interpreted as alienation from religion and from God. The West thinks in materialistic terms and for the short term, and it disregards the perspective of civilisation. A philosopher once said, "The level of a civilisation is in direct proportion to the time span that human beings think in terms of". The least civilised people live for today and the most civilised people think about tomorrow, ten years from now and a hundred years from now. Unfortunately, Americans are made to think in shorter and shorter time spans.
The liberal left have become afraid of this word, 'propaganda', but I see nothing wrong in propagating the morals, principles and values on which America is built: willpower, unshakeable faith, and the belief that this civilisation and this country is right and the enemy is wrong. You cannot defeat an enemy unless you have faith in the righteousness of your fight. Objectivity is good when you're discussing philosophical concepts, but in today's world, if you are neutral you are already an enemy of your own country. You have to actively take part in your own country and your own side. For some strange reason today, it's very fashionable to be an intellectual sheep and not to take sides. Academics and Hollywood stars and politicians think it's very fashionable to not align themselves with any side and to remain non-committal and neutral. But it's not intellectual - it's suicidal.
[Speaking on communist subversion tactics] The first stage of subversion is demoralisation. It takes between 15 and 20 years to demoralise a society. This is the time sufficient to educate one generation of students - to shape their outlook, ideology and personality.
If an enemy is bigger, the Chinese and Japanese martial arts tell us to use his strength against him. If he strikes out at you, avoid the strike and let him continue his movement until he destroys himself. In a free democratic nation there will always be some people opposed to the nation for ideological or psychotic reasons. Foreign subversives will wait for the right time to strike only when enough of those forces are pointing in the same direction against the State and will choose that moment to bring the nation down. You don't stop an enemy. You help him to go in the direction you want him to go.
The media are the self-appointed rulers of our opinions. Most people don't like the media and yet they exist without having been elected. How can they have almost monopolistic power over your minds without having been elected? How do they have the nerve to decide what is good and what is bad for the people elected by you - the president and his administration. Who the hell are they? They are a bunch of enfeebled snobs. The level of mediocrity in a big establishment like the NYT, the LA Times, major TV networks: you don't have to be an excellent journalist. You have to be exactly a mediocre journalist. Then it's easier to survive because there's no competition. You have your fixed regular income of $100k a year, and whether you're better or worse doesn't really matter anymore.

I will continue my transcription of Bezmenov's central teachings in the comments section beneath this video.
