Daniel Andrews is clearly feeling the pressure as key members of his inner circle have either gone or are under a cloud making it increasingly clear that “the buck will stop exactly where he hoped it wouldn’t,” according to Chris Kenny.
It comes as questions persisted around why Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton was nowhere to be seen at Wednesday’s press briefing.
“Little wonder given he has been caught out misleading the hotel quarantine inquiry,” Mr Kenny said,
The Coate Inquiry held an extraordinary session at 2pm on Tuesday in which it discussed the secret emails from Brett Sutton which were omitted from evidence by the DHHS.
The two email chains were not submitted by the Department of Health and Human Services pertaining to the “chain of command” of hotel quarantine, and when Professor Sutton was made aware of private security.
Professor Sutton has been asked to submit an affidavit as the hotel quarantine inquiry seeks an explanation as to why the key emails weren't tendered during an extraordinary session on Tuesday.
“So he was hiding from the media, as he awaits the inquiry findings,” Mr Kenny said.
