I’m not gonna show you today, but I shave the hobo out of my beard and once again the male model scouts are after me. But seriously. Mailed the broken buck knife off. Maimed a cleaver and the small Chinese sheath knife off. Sanded the machete up to 220, found some nice cocobolo to go on the huge cleaver, shined up a couple knives. Tomorrow I’ll get that machete at least up to 400 grit and maybe do a little work on the big cleaver.

Yep. I’m finding greater joy and pleasure in my knife making and restoration endeavors. The things I loved before surgery, I love even more now. The things that I feel blessed to have, I have an even deeper appreciation for. All in all, it’s a great feeling and I can’t help but be thankful that I experienced the depths of despair and eventual acceptance of the likelihood of dying, then to be given the gift of a bit more life. I take nothing in life for granted now.

Finally got the deep grind lines off the machete. Got a couple knives polished up.

Sunday I’ll be in the shop. Have a great day y’all.

Had a really productive and very dirty day.

Just a few things I’m
Doing.

Deep down in the marrow of my bones
Thankful I'm not looking up at a headstone
When a man comes close to his own death
And he's granted his prayer of one more breath
He tends to cherish every minute
Of this world turning and you're still in it
There's no other feeling that can compare
To waking from surgery and you're still breathing air
3 times I went under the knife
3 times thankful to see the face of my wife
Now, blue skies seem bluer
Bad days seem fewer
I once again cheated the sickled pursuer
Sunshine and rain
And yes even pain
All serve to remind me that I'm still on this plane
No words can describe
The feeling inside
Impossible to hide
Can not be denied
I get on my knees
I thank the creator
The Lord of Lords
The great liberator
For just one more chance
At this thing we call life
A few more hours in my shop
To design a new knife
A few more miles on my bike
More of the sunrises that I like
A few more days on my front porch
And I thank God that I'm not a corpse

Had one hell of a storm come through here last night. I dread seeing what the storm brought down in the morning.
Got a great start on another machete.

I think I’ve covered all the bases. Finished the machete sheath, wrote a short poem, installed some motorcycle chrome, and mowed a yard and pond.

Well, at least I got a really nice machete finished. The rest of the day was kind of a waste of time, effort and wishy washyness. We got a lot of hard rain and bad weather coming. I’m gonna name a sheath in the morning and mow my grass in the afternoon before the rain gets here.

Started off with just a simple little project, that took turn after turn. I got a lot done though. I’ll have the machete finished in the morning, then I’m gonna get to polishing that rim. I can make it look like a mirror. Big disappointment in the rim. I definitely got bamboozled/hoodwinked/led astray.

Had a very nice day and to top
It off, craftsman is sending me a brand new tool.

Charley and I had a fantastic ride today, which more than made up
For the awful Ride we had yesterday.
My wife, in front of me, is riding an 05 heritage softtail classic, and me, I’m on an 2011 ultra limited

Another day thankful to be alive. Pulled some of the “quiet”
Out of my motorcycle mufflers. The bike sounds serious now. Then I sanded the machete up to 220. It’s looking great. In the next 2-3 days, I should have the handles on it.

I had to get a little aggressive with the fist headlight. I used a rag and alcohol but it didn’t work. I used some steel wool and it worked fine. The two spotlights were much easier and came clean with just a rag. Then, I polished my wife’s bike and called it a day. I installed Sylvania ultra bright replacement bulbs. They made a huge difference, and I think I’ve increased the odds of people seeing me better.

I had an unusually productive day. I feel my motivation coming back. Got a lot done eon the machete I’m making, and then I surprised myself by working another 4 hours on my bike. I stripped, polished, and waxed the entire bike as well as polishing all the chrome. Tommy, I’m getting the headlights on the bike straightened out, and then I’m gonna polish charlys bike.

I replace the keyed lock on a Harley fuel door with a simple push button lock. Easy and simple install.

I hope you celebrated cranky brad day by yelling at kids to get off your grass or telling a total stranger they parked badly. The possibilities to enjoy cranky brad day are only limited by your imagination. See ya next year!

Today, I’m mowing Bev’s pond and working in the knife shop. Have a good Wednesday y’all.

Just a day on the bikes.

Didn’t get much done today. Yesterday wore me out. I guess I’m just going to have to accept the fact that my strength, stamina and energy are limited. Lubricating the clutch cable seemed to make a minor difference.
