Hi everyone
This month on 17, there will be Myanmar new year. We usually celebrate water festival 3-4 days ahead. This water festival is call Thin-Gyan in #myanmar language. This is our culture to celebrate water festival every year.
You may know that there has been a Coup d’etat in Myanmar since February 1, 2021. It has been two years now. Last year Thin-Gyan, people didn’t celebrate the festival to oppose the coup junta.
Now this is the second festival from Coup day.
People of Myanmar don’t accept the Military administration. So We are not happy to celebrate this time also.
The song writer AMTO try to compose the situation as a documentary music. During this festival days, the Gum-Kino trees (we called Padauk) typically bloom. AMTO composed as if there was a conversation between people of Myanmar and this Padauk.
