Blaming the victims – Why are banks closing regional branches?
This is an urgent call to enlist everybody to spread the word that ALL impacted communities, groups, businesses and individuals should make submissions to the regional bank closures inquiry.
Many impacted people, especially the elderly, do not use the internet. We need to reach those people through word of mouth, so they have the opportunity to have their say.
Please contact every group you can think of, including senior citizens groups, CWAs, men’s sheds, RSLs, etc. to urge their members to write letters to the committee that explain their situation and recount their experiences with losing branches.
Handwritten letters mailed through the post will have a big impact on the committee.
Submissions to the inquiry are due by 31 March.
Mail your submission to the Committee at this address:
Committee Secretary
Senate Standing Committees on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
PO Box 6100
Parliament House
Canberra ACT 2600
Email your submission to the Committee at [email protected]
Upload your submission, and get more information, at the inquiry website
For more information, phone the Committee on 02 6277 3511.
