Fatal Rewind (The Killing Game Show) (1991, Mega Drive)

Fatal Rewind is mixture between shoot'em up and platformer. It was originally developed by British company Raising Hell Software for Amiga and Atari ST, and later ported to the Genesis/ Mega Drive. The game's setting takes the idea of the film "The Running Man" that in the future criminals take part in a TV show where they have to survive and if they manage to do it, they are free. There are no hostile gladiators in this case, instead the participants are put into a robotic suit and need to escape a number of levels filled with robotic enemies, traps and an ever rising tide.
