China "Indignant" Over US House Bill Against Surveillance & Internment in Xinjiang
Last night the House of Representatives passed Bill S. 178, the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2019, despite continuous warnings and condemnation from China’s foreign ministry. This comes amid a new report from the New York Times about how China is using DNA collection and facial scanning technology on Uyghurs. This also follows a trove of documents called the Xinjiang papers that shed light on China’s activities in the region.
