MASSIVE Multi-Agency Police Presence Descends on Small Town Walmart - For What?!?

On May 16, 2024 (around 9:45pm) I heard the distant sound of police sirens, revving engines and squealing tires. No less than a dozen police cruisers were speeding down the road in an urgent effort to pull into the parking lot where I happened to be finishing up a livestream for the channel. The report on the street (rather in the parking lot), at the time, was that there was a fight near where a traveling circus had set up at the town's only Wal-Mart.

Three separate agencies responded to the call (Cherokee Marshal Service, Tahlequah PD and the Tahlequah Sheriff's Dept.) with such a show of force, you'd have thought there was massive riot moving through and ransacking the city. When the dust settled three young males were apprehended and cuffed. I've reached out to local law enforcement and to the local news paper in an effort to obtain further information (incident reports, nature of the call, names and badge numbers of the agents tending the scene) no one has any answers. This is a small town of roughly 16,000 people. It seems a curious public would be very interested in how many resources were spend to respond to this particular call and why that much man-power was necessary.

Next time I'll be conducting more interviews and collecting names, badge numbers and incident numbers....'cause cops love transparency, right?
