the rolling stones - I wanna be your man - wide mono Id
Edit 1d for headphones, November 2012/January 2024. Brian Jones performs a non-sixties solo, way ahead of his time. The video is "Top Of The Pops" on New Year's Day 1964. In this video Mick Jagger is only 20 years old. Keith Richards just turned 20 a little over one week ago. Second UK single. The first Stones single that hit the UK top 100. Recorded on October 7, 1963. Released as UK single on November 1, 1963, went to number 12 on the charts.
Released in 1972 on "Milestones", in 1975 on "Rolled Gold: The Very Best Of The Rolling Stones", in 1989 on "Singles Collection, The London Years", in 2012 on "Grrr!" and in 2016 on "Stray Cats", album 15 of the box set "The Rolling Stones In Mono". And probably on some zillion other compilation albums...
Lead slide guitar & backing vocals: Brian Jones. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Rhythm guitar: Keith Richards. Bass: Bill Wyman. Drums: Charlie Watts.
John Lennon & Paul McCartney wrote this for the Stones while visiting them in 1963.
An interesting comment was written on Youtube by Matt Padden:
"The possible reason for the inaudibility of Charlie Watts on this classic Stones single is the fact that their co-manager Eric Easton "produced" this session, rather than Andrew Loog Oldman, their other manager. This was the first occasion (and the last) that Easton took on these duties. There are no overdubs on this recording, it's completely live in the studio - indicating it was perhaps a slightly rushed 'balance check' that led to the drums being drowned out."
Thanks Matt.

in addition Mike Madunic wrote:
Not completely true. Easton co produced "I Wanna Be Your Man" with Brian Jones who double tracked Mick's vocals and replaced some of Keith's guitar parts with his own. (A GREAT choice btw.) Also there at the time was Tony Bramwell who worked for the Beatles and stated that Brian Jones did the majority of the production work on the song. Thank you Mike.
