Heated Barrel is a horizontally scrolling shoot'em up by TAD Corporation which was only released in the arcades. You play as either a gunslinger (Billy Six Guns) or an Indian (Little Plum) through various places in the Old West and fight a boss at the end of the level (and sometimes in between). There is also a version where up to four players can partake, with the Mexican Chi Chi Gringo and the shotgun-wielding Howdy Pardner as third and fourth character. As far as I know, the game has no story.
Apart from shooting, you can use a limited number of "bombs" which will place an exploding barrel on screen which will will hurt everything within a limited radius. There are a few extras to collect. One will make you mover faster, another will power-up your shot and another will give you a double-shot.
