Currawinya National Park 3/4 | Woolshed and Best Bushwalks | 4x4 Outback Adventure
Join the journey as I uncover Currawinya's secrets, in part 3 I camp at Myninya waterhole, explore the Boorara Woolshed ruins, drive the Werewilka Creek Circuit, bushwalk at Budjiti Lookout and The Granites, discover a portable steam engine, and visit the Currawinya Woolshed and Bilby display. A 13 Day Epic Adventure exploring Currawinya National Park in outback Queensland.
The Myninya waterhole bush camping area is the remotest campsite in the park, with 4x4 caravans not recommended. Cold showers are provided. Plenty of space to camp quietly.
The Boorara Woolshed ruins are interesting to explore, with various buildings falling into disrepair. Some areas are restricted access for your safety.
Werewilka Creek Circuit is a 4x4 track driving a sandy/claypan area with low lying vegetation. An easy afternoon drive if you have time.
Budjiti Lookout is an easy couple hundred metre walk offering 360 degree views of the surrounding country. Well worth the stop. The Granites are an impressive outcrop unlike anything else you've seen in Currawinya.
The Currawinya Woolshed is one of the best preserved traditional woolsheds I have visited, with everything in situ. A display about the Bilby fence project is out the front explaining the attempts of Parks to reintroduce the Bilby into a fenced off area.
Join me in part 3 for my discoveries of what Currawinya has to offer the outback traveller.
