The Ministry of Education and Sports and that of Agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries have patterned to organize the national agricultural education fair and exhibition to enhance seeds of change through climate resilience.
The agricultural education fair is slated on the 25th of June 2024 to facilitate skills transfer in propagating for generational agriculturalists.

President Museveni has committed, through the National Defense College, to eradicate corruption within both the leadership and the army.
He expressed concern over why corruption persists despite the public's awareness of measures to combat it. Museveni made these remarks while passing out the second cohort of 21 officers, including a civilian, who completed the National Security and Strategic Studies Course.

Uganda’s first National Lottery has officially been launched.
The launch means that Ugandans can participate in various lottery games effective June 1, 2024 with starting guaranteed jackpots of over UGX 2.5 billion.

The Minister of State for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo has commended the remarkable performance and recovery rate of Emyooga savings and credit cooperatives in Kapchorwa district.

The visit, organized by the Microfinance Support Centre to assess the implementation of Emyooga revolving funds in the Sebei sub-region, highlighted standout enterprises such as the Kapchorwa Municipal Women’s Entrepreneurs Emyooga SACCO, Kapchorwa Tailors SACCO, and Persons with Disabilities Emyooga SACCO.

The Senior Presidential Advisor- Industry, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde has advised the recently appointed Assistant Resident District Commissioners (ARDCs) and Assistant Resident City Commissioners (ARCCs) that they should be able to balance politics and public service if they want to serve Ugandans effectively.

The Minister of State for Urban Planning, Obiga Kania Mario has emphasized the pivotal role of transparency, honesty, and intelligence in the execution of their duties, citing integrity as paramount.

This was at a recent address during the handover ceremony for the Society of Professional Physical Planners of Uganda.

The Executive Director of the Uganda Heart Institute Dr. John Omagino, is urging the government to implement a policy recommending the presence of nurses in all primary schools to detect rheumatic heart diseases in their early stages, where they can be diagnosed and treated effectively.

Dr. Omagino made this call during the dissemination of research on advancing cardiovascular healthcare and innovation in Kampala.

Makerere University based organization Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation, CREEC is partnering with both local and international stakeholders to find lasting and productive solutions to the water hyacinth.
Water Hyacinth is a problematic invasive plant that clogs waterways in warm temperate and subtropical regions worldwide. In Uganda, water hyacinth is firmly established in lakes Victoria, Kyoga, Albert and along the River Nile.

The Minister of State for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo, has announced that all Emyooga Savings and Credit Cooperatives will receive additional funding from the government.

Each Emyooga SACCO is set to receive an extra twenty million shillings, aimed at empowering communities and fostering economic growth and development.

During a monitoring visit organized by the Microfinance Support Centre to evaluate the progress of Emyooga SACCOs in the Sebei, Bugisu, and Bukedi sub-regions, it was plain that the program is making significant strides among the communities.

The Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, has announced plans to petition parliament to strategically address the high unemployment rate among educated youth, which stands at 80% for post-secondary graduates.

Prof. Nawangwe believes that such a plan will help transfer knowledgeable and skilled youth to rural areas, where they can provide various services and drive social and economic transformation.

He made these remarks while presiding over the 17th graduation ceremony at Makerere University Business School.
