A social enterprise that hopes to train young people to protect the ocean has expanded to the UK.
The Sea Rangers Service is now running from Port Talbot, after first launching in The Netherlands in 2016. They hope to restore one million hectares of ocean biodiversity by 2040, while training 20,000 young people, mainly from coastal areas, into maritime careers.

Conservationists primarily blame the fishing industry for the decline in numbers, as penguins depend on the sardines and anchovies they catch and sell.
But fishermen say they are “a fraction of the problem”, as there are there factors like climate change and vulnerability to natural predators involved.
While the South African government has previously tried to restrict fishing activities, it is estimated that only 8,750 penguin breeding pairs are left in the country.
This has led conservation groups to take legal action against the government in the first case of its kind in South Africa.
