Four hours up river, the autonomous region of Brushgrovia. The missionaries always had trouble with these riverfolk, determined to hold dear to their cousin marriage and moonshining traditions. Rumour has it many go missing exploring the mosquito infested tributaries off the main river. They say if you hear a mournful didgeridoo, pack up quick and head back to open waters #sailing

Good to get the old girl out on the water and see her track with a bit of breeze. Working on getting things organised to head north in May. Still a lot of systems to check over to ensure she is ready to hit the ocean.

Siquando is a 30 foot masthead sloop built to race in the half tonner class to Nevin's rules. Hit the water in 1983 after being built over 11 years in Sydney. Cold molded, three layers of Oregon, dynel sheathed. Thanks to my mate Ingo who got this amazing footage running along side me in his dinghy

My mate Ingo managed to keep up with me as l powered into the breeze using the full 40 foot tumblehome to push past hull speed. At least doing 8 knots 😀
