Let's Play Off Peak
Here's something completely different before we dive into the mind of Claptrap. We play as a stranger passing through the city of Off-Peak hoping to catch a train to Rowayton. We've done this commute many times before despite having no money and those train tickets are way too expensive. Luckily, a music teacher named Lucas Belmont (or "Luuuke" for short) has always given us his train ticket instead, but this time however he screwed up and tore up the ticket into pieces and scattered them so we have find the pieces and reassemble them. We head towards the entrance of the central train station and it looks like The Circus is in town and on strike apparently. The train station is run by a man named Marcus who runs it like he's a king or something. He's got security guards stationed in many corners of the place and hopes to get a profit from the commuters passing through town with the various shops and vendors he's set up. Our ticket pieces can be found at the places Luuuke likes to frequent. There's a Ramen vendor, a pizzeria, a record shop, a sheet music store, a bar where people can enjoy beer & some tabletop gaming, and a subway where a vendor sells drugged cookies. We also meet an old woman who's keeping an eye out for a woman with red-hair who shows up at the train station from time to time. We can take anything that isn't nailed down and shop-lift and eat as we please. There's also a trio of women in blue suits who are keeping an eerie watchful eye on us. Once we have our ticket, we get ready to board our train when Marcus shows up with some guards and angry vendors. He's tired of us coming through his train station all the time and our shoplifting and dine & dashing have made us rack up a massive debt. Marcus plans to put us to work for a long time until that debt is repaid, but then a mysterious red-haired woman named Murial shows up to take us away on a boat. We've just been recruited by The Circus.
